Hey, I’m Sarah! I’m an interior design student at auburn university.
Professional Involvement
At Auburn, I serve as the President of Kappa Omicron Nu, the College of Human Sciences Honor Society that recognizes the top 5 percent of students by GPA. I’m passionate about supporting my peers academically and professionally, and we are actively organizing networking events to help students grow in their future careers.
Within the Interior Design program, I serve as a Teaching Assistant for both the History of Interior Design and Commercial Studio courses. These roles have deepened my understanding of design principles while allowing me to mentor younger students, assist in project development, and support professors in course planning and critiques.
I'm also actively involved in The Societies—Auburn’s professional Interior Design organization, affiliated with ASID and IIDA. Through this group, I’ve participated in initiatives such as Student Career Day in Birmingham, professional headshots, and Q&A panels with design professionals to help students prepare for their future in the field.
Experience
This past summer, I interned at Studio 2H Design, an architecture firm
in downtown Birmingham. Working alongside architects, project coordinators, and managers, I gained invaluable experience in project development and documentation. This opportunity gave me a firsthand look at the design process from concept to execution, strengthening both my technical and collaborative skills.
extra-curriculars
Outside of design, I’ve held leadership roles in my sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. As Director of New Member Experience, I welcomed 109
new members through events like Bid Day and a group trip to Six Flags—growing my skills in event planning, budgeting, and team leadership.
I now serve as Chaplain, leading weekly Bible studies and fostering a connection between faith and college life.
I’m also a member of Mortar Board Honor Society, where I serve as secretary, and I’m involved in Baby Steps, an organization that supports student mothers through meal delivery and childcare. Faith continues
to be a foundation in my life, and I enjoy being active in my church communities in both Auburn and Birmingham, particularly through college and youth ministry.
